ARTICLE: EDITORIAL DISCUSSION

Here we want to reflect on the namesake editorial that launched our brand.

The editorial ‘Other Finds’ encompasses everything that we want other material to be, to launch a brand that does not move away from the streetwear indsutry due to it being unethical or evem shunning the areas that on the surface may look that they could not intertwine with an ethical practise in anyway, and instead embraces all of the sreas that customers and brands know and love.

Here Youssoupha and Sellina wear classic streetwear elements, with Youssoupha sporting a casual look of a sweatshirt and jeans in current, over sized styles, finished off with complementing accessories in the shape of Nike Air Force 1's and a white Nike bucket hat that can be paired forward with any outfit. Sellina's outfit mixes sporty and luxe with thrifted jeans and sneakers paired with a more elevated shirt and jumper combination from Our Day that incorporates luxurious fabrics and tennis references to feel unique.

This is why the editoral ‘other finds’ takes an amalgamation of clothing, from high street thirifted, to collaborations with curated vintage brands, handmade brands and vintage brands that focus on replatforming branded streetwear to a new home and creating looks that emulate a classic streetwear style. This launch campaign is as varied as its customer base, as from being streetwear customers ourselves we understand that each customer has a different acessibility to being more ‘ethical’ and we want to nurture that no matter how much you have to give. Therefore, we hope that ‘other finds’ inspires you on your next shop.

Look 2 sees both Youssoupha and Sellina sporting sweater vests and a more work wear style. Youssouphas look focuses on sportstyle, pairing a eye-catching football shirt, hand selected by Cloth Vintage with an otherwise more neutral outfit finished with sought after Air Jordan 1 mid, copped second hand from Kersh Kicks. Sellina's look continues the theme of workwear pants but instead opts for a more formal edge on top, featuring a handmade crocheted sweater vest from Forget Me Knot Handmade and paired with Salomon's, a brand that offers a plethora of animal free, sustainably focused footwear that are also perfect for trails and running.

From releasing ‘other finds’ we hope that you spot something within one of those looks that you already recognise within your own wardrobe, and that from these varied spurces that we have highlighted, that moving in a more ethical direction within your streetwear buying, now feels more managable.

The final look see's both models sporting neutral looks, a colour palette that has been trending recently, but seen in these looks through classic, life long staples that pay no attention to the cycle of brands, Youssoupha's look shows a perfect example of how to elevate your streetwear staples, by taking a fleece sweatshirt and pairing it with a brown necktie to make an old classic more exciting with an item you can often find in many charity shops/vintage stores. Sellina's look takes a fashion classic, a vintage Burberry shirt, with other staple pieces such as oversized jeans and a sweater vest to create a look that is timeless.
